Today's post is courtesy of my dear friend Ronni. For as long as I've known her, she's been a go-to person for good advice. That's why I'm not surprised that she's a resource to her office mates — They wanted to know how she always seems to find the best deal. So she compiled a list of references and also shared it with me.

Holy smokes!

Who doesn't want to save money these days? As usual, she's got her finger on the pulse. So I'm taking the liberty to republish her recommendations.
These are links to sites she's either personally used or vetted. If you know of others, feel free to share deals that have helped you save.

Websites For People
Who Want to Save $$$

From Veronica K. Sawyer

Gift certificates sold at half their face value.

$25 restaurant certificates for $10. This one has a lot of restrictions, so make sure to read the fine print- my sister uses this one a lot too and it works for her.

Groupon.com
Daily group coupon available in select cities.  This is how I found discount dance classes for my child.
Have also purchased restaurant and salon coupons from it.  So far, I think it's great.  There was even one I bought that turned out to be limited in where it could be used, and they offered a refund based on customer feedback.

Woot.com
Another site that has a daily deal — when it’s gone it’s gone.

DealCatcher.com
All-around great deal site.

RetailMeNot.com
I never buy anything online until I check for a promotional code first- here’s where I usually find it.

MyKidsEatFree.com
This may not apply to everyone, but just in case you want to take a little one out to eat for nothing, try this site.

Chegg.com
Textbook rental site (boy I wish they had this when I was in school)

kayak.com
Travel site that shows the lowest rates in a calendar form so you can decide when to travel to save the most.
