Teen Angst is Timeless

John Hughes, director of Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Breakfast Club, and many other beloved films, defined what it meant to be an American teenager in the 1980's. If you're in that group with me, consider that he would have been roughly our parents age at the time he was expressing high our school angst on screen. But somehow he got it. He tapped into our collective psyche and created a body of work that's still quoted and loved. I guess teen angst is timeless.

John Hughes died today at age 59.

"Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

— Ferris Bueller, 1986

In tribute, here's a video montage of the classics he created. My personal favorite is Ferris Bueller. Which among them is yours?
