The Georgia Theatre, a long time cornerstone of the famed Athens, GA music scene is no more. Fire gutted the historic building this morning, leaving nothing but the brick exterior and landmark marquis.

About every third Facebook status update on my list referenced it today. People swapping stories of what famous bands they saw there, or announcing it as a favorite place to play. It's a sad day for Athens. I pay tribute to it here...
