"Tonight at six, cEYEclops WITNESS NEWS investigates: How alleged aliens are lurking in lunch rooms of local schools. Tune-in tonight to see if your child's is among them."*
That's because electronic media is more relevant to what goes on in our daily lives. Come on, everybody knows this: If you want hard-hitting, in-depth investigative reporting on things that matter to your community, you tune to local television news.

If you want to be titillated by some smut like how the water district plans to keep taps running in the face of drought, you buy the paper — Those newspaper folks are so transparent, always pandering to the lowest common denominator just to get attention. It's embarrassing.
Of course the Internet, specifically the proliferation of video on the net, has turned the whole world of media on its ear. It's not just videogenic TV personalities that are creating a presence on the web. DJs and announcers with a "faces for radio" are now expected to put their mugs online. And now... columnists and reporters are stepping in front of the camera too...

Now I just don't know how to feel. I know TV news is better and more trusted because they're always telling me so. But suddenly I'm looking at moving pictures in my (online) newspaper and thinking it might be just as good! The whole traditional media industry, and the traditional advertising that supports it, is scrambling to compete in the new media world. I'm so relieved some papers have figured it out. Maybe now, finally, the headlines in the paper will be as sensational as what's reported by TV.
